Maskcara Beauty Review
Hey guys! Today we are going to be chatting about a beauty line that has had a ton of buzz surrounding it lately... Maskcara Beauty. This company was started by makeup artist & beauty blogger, Cara Brook. Now, whenever a makeup artist comes out with a makeup line, I'm so interested to try it for the simple reason of, they know skin and know what a good product should be like.
Maskcara is now selling directly on their website, OR through independent consultants known as "Maskcara Artists". I would suggest going through an artist because they can give you guidance as far as color matching and products go. Also, I just like to support someone's hustle if I can!
Maskcara has almost a complete range of products but what I wanted to try out the most was her IIID foundation. This is what the company is known for. It is described as "A TWO COLOR FOUNDATION SYSTEM THAT GIVES YOU SKIN SMOOTHING COVERAGE, A PERFECT SCULPT AND MOVIE STAR LIGHTING ALL IN ONE SPEEDY SYSTEM!" So basically, you are getting a highlight shade and a contour shade. There is NO all over skin toned foundation. Interesting, huh?
Fast forward to me getting the IIID foundation. The first couple of days, I applied it using the 30 second HAC (highlight & contour) brush. After application my skin looked SO GOOD. I couldn't put my finger on it, I just looked more polished than normal. The first day, I didn't powder it because I wanted to see how it wore. On the second day, I realized I definitely needed to powder it, simply because I always get oily in the t-zone throughout the day & noticed a little bit of creasing under my eyes/ loss of coverage. This isn't a negative about the product because I always need to powder with cream foundations, just something to point out.
On day three, I wanted to try a different form of application. I used my beauty blender and went right into the product with that and then applied to my face. This is where, for me, the magic really happened. It gave me a lighter feeling to my makeup and pushed the product into the skin, rather than just sitting on top. With less product being used, I needed less powder & this way of application also gave me better coverage for longer.
So to wrap up this review... I really love this product. It's like any foundation in that it isn't one product fits all. You have to figure out how it works best for your skin type. For me, it's with a beauty sponge & it makes my skin look SO GOOD! Another huge bonus is that it's so easy and quick to apply. If you're interested in seeing how I apply this product, let me know and maybe I will film a demo!
